What we're counting on
Four numbers matter to us: program hours, students reached, wages paid, and how many of our own students go on to become paid teachers. Everything else on this page explains those four.
We believe that helping young people teach quality lessons locally, during out-of-school time, meets learning needs, develops leaders who serve as role models, and creates good jobs and income for people entering the workforce.

The line we care about is wages, because it means the model is real
Volunteer tutoring scales on goodwill. Paid teaching scales on budget, so growth in wages paid is the honest measure of whether this works.
| Year | Wages paid | Sites |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | $0 | 1 |
| 2023 | $15,000 | 2 |
| 2024 | $28,000 | 2 |
| 2025 | $17,000 | 4 |
| 2026 | $30,000 | 5 |
Bars are shares of the $90,000 cumulative total.

The next number on this page depends on who funds the next cohort
$20,000 puts fout youth teachers on payroll at one site for a summer. Another $20,000 helps train and support them.
