Team Building

During the summer, we teach high schoolers computer science, software engineering, design, and product development. Learning is done through engaging, relatable lectures as well as small-group, project-based curricula. We also offer additional enrichment (i.e. arts and public speaking), invite interesting technolgy speakers, and go on trips.

In the second half of the program, participants form small groups and use Swift and XCode to build mobile applications that solve some local need. At the end of the program, they present their work at a community showcase.

As a teacher, I had the opportunity to guide high school students through the fundamentals of tech and coding, while working in small teams to develop functional iOS apps. This program not only allowed me to make lasting friendships but also the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in my community, and for that I will always be grateful.–Estu Lopez
